West & north-west glass · the fairway wall
External venetian blinds
On the wall with no season off, we'd specify external venetians over an interior blockout roller — physics, not preference. Stopping the sun before it reaches the pane keeps a room cooler than absorbing it inside, where the glass still warms and radiates back in all evening. Slats close for a full block or tilt for filtered light.
The most visible change to the outside of the house — the aesthetics committee sees it first. Living outdoors through hail season also means specifying for wind, not only sun.
